Superstar singer Mariah Carey had to share unfortunate news with fans on December 11 after she became ill. She sent her love to them all and apologized for the news she had to share.
What the “American Idol” and “The Voice” alum received in return was an immense amount of love from all of her supporters.
In response to Carey’s announcement, one fan responded, “Queen, your health and well-being is paramount!!! Please take care of yourself and get well soon! WE LOVE YOU!”
Mariah Carey Had to Cancel a Concert Due to the Flu
On December 11, Carey took to the social media site X, formerly Twitter, to share the sad news. “Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu,” she wrote.
Carey continued, “It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. I love you all so much.”
More than 450 comments from supporters poured in after Carey posted her tweet.
“Get well soon! Your health is the most important thing, so please take good care of yourself…I know you were really looking forward to the show, but sometimes things happen, just remember, you love your fans, and they love you,” tweeted a fan.
Another posted, “Feel better Mariah! Sending much love and healing vibes your way Queen. Take all the time you need to rest and get well. Your health comes first. We love you MC!”
“Omg I’m heartbroken to hear this (that’s the bad part about the cold season) take care of yourself,” added someone else on X.
A separate X user tweeted, “My queen hope you feel better!! Was so excited to see you but your wellbeing is the most important!! I love you!! Hope to see you soon!!”
The Singer’s Christmas Tour Is Almost Over
The cancellation of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania show comes just days before the end of Carey’s Christmas show tour. The final three shows are scheduled for December 13 in New Jersey, December 15 in Elmont, New York, and one last show on December 17 in Brooklyn, New York.
At the end of January 2025, Carey starts a brief residency in Las Vegas. Those shows are slated to run from January 31 through February 15.
Carey’s December 9 concert, held in Raleigh, North Carolina, included a special celebration. Her iconic song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is in the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 again.
On Instagram, Carey shared a video showing her celebrating the achievement on stage, and her kids were by her side.
She wrote, “I couldn’t have dreamed of a better time or place to celebrate the news than on stage with my amazing fans, my kids and my #Christmastime tour family.”
