Luke Bryan Stuns Fans & Takes Selfies at Grocery Store

It’s not every day grocery store cashier Rosemarie Brennan has a country superstar — or anyone famous — show up in her checkout lane. So when “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan showed up during weekend shift at the Publix in Hobe Sound, Florida, she and her co-workers couldn’t help but lose their cool.

Brennan spotted Bryan in line on December 7, 2024, according to Treasure Coast News, and alerted her colleague Susi Anzai Aquino, who was bagging customers’ groceries — a moment neither woman will ever forget. The surreal moment, and the selfies that followed, came days before Bryan opens his own store in Nashville.

Luke Bryan Was Shopping for a Trip to the Bahamas

Bryan — dressed casually in a ballcap, light blue t-shirt and sunglasses — said he was shopping for a trip to the Bahamas, Aquino told Treasure Coast News. It was a “large order,” she said, that included steak, wine, and bread.

She posted a selfie with Bryan on social media, writing, “Wow!!!!! Luke Bryan at our store”

When co-workers and friends expressed their shock on Facebook, asking for more details, Aquino wrote, “Yes we asked for ID for the beer. He is going to Bahamas so he got lots of groceries”

Though Bryan didn’t give details of his trip to the Bahamas, it’s common for boaters to sail east from the port in nearby Jupiter Island to the closest islands in the Bahamas, which MarinaLife says is closer than boating to Miami.

On December 8, Bryan’s wife Caroline posted a photo of the two of them together on the back of a yacht, celebrating their 18th anniversary. In the photo, the couple wore matching shirts with multiple photos of them over the years and the word “Caroluke” splashed across it.

Caroline captioned the post, “‘And we stillllll together!!’ Happy 18th anniversary. Love you to the moon and back! @lukebryan #inlivingcolor #mrandmrsbrooks

Luke Bryan Partnering With Jockey on a New Store in Nashville

Bryan’s grocery store stop came days before he was set to open his own retail store in Nashville, near his family’s primary residence.

Jockey, for which Bryan serves as a spokesperson, announced in late October that it was partnering with the country star on a new store called Coopers 12South, “designed to blend Nashville’s rich music culture with the spirit of the great outdoors.”

Per a press release from the apparel brand, the store will feature “a fusion of activations, music, local artisan workshops, community events, and exclusive, yet approachable apparel.”

On December 10, the store’s Instagram account featured a countdown in its Stories that said Coopers 12South will open in “3 days.”

Earlier in the month, the account shared the store’s location in a post that said, “Exciting News! Coopers 12South is coming to 📍2605 12th Ave. South Nashville, TN 37204. Join us for an amazing experience where you can relax, shop, enjoy live music, and so much more!”
