Fans Concerned for Luke Bryan as He Cancels More Shows: ‘Your Health is the Priority’

Country superstar and “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan continues to battle an illness that’s kept him from taking the stage for over a week, leaving many of his fans concerned. Bryan was scheduled to play music festivals in three different states from June 26 – 28, 2025, but had to back out of all three.

On June 25, 2025, he apologized for his latest cancellations via social media, writing, “I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness. I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet.”

Fans Encourage Luke Bryan to Take His Time Getting Well

In Bryan’s social media update, which was sent out via multiple platforms including in a tweet and via his Instagram Stories, he told fans that country star Eric Church would replace him at each festival.

“Huge thanks to my buddy @ericchurch for stepping in last minute — and of course, putting on a kick ass show like he always does. Sitting still is not what I do best so I can’t wait to be back soon. Love yall, Luke”

Bryan was due to perform on June 26 at Country Stampede in Kansas, June 27 at NebraskaLand Days, and on June 28 at Country Jam in Colorado, according to Taste of Country. The day before Bryan’s message to fans, NebraskaLand Days organizers told North Platte’s KNOP that they’d received confirmation from the superstar’s team that he would be performing.

Many of Bryan’s fans have taken to social media to encourage the singer not to rush the healing process, including one who tweeted, “Can’t rush your voice getting well”

On Facebook, one fan wrote, “Your health is more important. Take all the time you need and practice self care and love.”

Another wrote, “Praying that God will lay his hands on you & heal you soon. Sorry to hear that you won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows, but your health is the priority. Sending you lots of positive vibes and looking forward to your return!”

Someone else tweeted, “Feel better soon! Pretty cool that Eric Church can fill in for you! Rest your body and your voice-try not to talk at all! Love you, Luke.”

Luke Bryan’s Health Issues Started With Losing His Voice During a Concert in Arkansas

Bryan’s health issues started on June 19, when he announced midway through his show in Rogers, Arkansas, that he was going to issue refunds to everyone in the stadium because he was losing his voice.

“I’m gonna get real with y’all,” Bryan said from the stage in a TikTok video, one of many that fans at the concert posted to social media after the show. “This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life. I cannot have my voice in this venue for some reason. It happens every time, I don’t know why.”

After pausing to cough, Bryan told the Arkansas audience, “You know, I saw Luke Combs do this a couple years ago when he was having a weird night on stage and I said, ‘You know what, that’s pretty cool.’ So I don’t give a damn, I’m gonna refund everybody their tickets tonight and we’re gonna keep doing the damn show, okay?”

Bryan was scheduled to perform next in Dallas on June 20 and in Lafayette, Louisiana, on June 21. But midday on June 20, Bryan told fans via social media that “due to illness, my shows in Dallas and Lafayette this weekend have been rescheduled.” The Lafayette concert is now scheduled for September 11, while the Dallas concert will happen on September 12.

Bryan has been on his Country Song Came On Tour since May 29, shortly after season 23 of “American Idol” wrapped. Fans who can’t see Bryan live in concert can catch the superstar in action during ABC’s CMA Fest special airing on June 26 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
