Lauren Alaina Shares Baby Gender: ‘Baby Arnold Is a … ‘
On January 28, Alaina took to Instagram to share her baby gender announcement with a video that featured her husband, Cam Arnold, and their cat and dogs. The video begins in black and white as she paints the pets’ paws and stamps them on a piece of fabric.
Alaina adds a cowboy hat, photos, and the sonogram pictures to the art as she continues to stamp the painted pawprints. When the video changes to color, it reveals the prints are pink!

The couple share a kiss, as they touch her belly, decorated with a pink heart painted on her belly button. At the end, she frames the sweet keepsake of her furbabies’ prints.
Lauren Alaina Dished on Her ‘Best Kept Secret’
On January 28, Alaina posted a “get ready with me” throwback Instagram video. It opened with her saying, “Get ready with me and help me pray about hiding my 20 week pregnancy.”
She continued, “We’re announcing in two weeks, so we’re really going to try to hide it.”
Alaina explained, “By the time you see this, you will know that I’m pregnant. We’re announcing it with my new song ‘Those Kind of Women.’ In the music video, if you haven’t seen it, please go watch it. It’s so sweet. My mom’s in it.”
She continued, “‘Those Kind of Women’ is all about the women who made me who I am and raised me. And when I recorded this song, I was not pregnant. I was not planning on getting pregnant … nice little surprise.”
Alaina explained that there were other songs she “thought we would release first.” When she discovered she was pregnant, she felt it was “a little God nod” to release “Those Kind of Women” as a way “to celebrate the pregnancy.”
The country singer noted what it’s been like to keep her pregnancy under wraps. “It’s been very stressful hiding it,” she admitted. “But it’s been so fun because it’s like our own little family secret. I live a life where everything’s kind of in the public eye, but this little baby’s been my best kept secret to date.”
The “American Idol” 2011 runner-up shared how it was difficult “losing my dad in July” 2024 and how she felt her pregnancy was a sign.
“We weren’t even trying to get pregnant,” she noted. “I truly believe my dad got up there to heaven and said, ‘We gotta somehow get a baby involved.'”
She called the baby “a light in the midst of sadness and what felt like a lot of darkness,” adding that she is “very much looking forward to Baby Arnold getting here.”
