Lauren Alaina is back on stage for the first time after having her baby girl, and her duet partner could not be cuter!
The season ten American Idol contestant put up a series of posts on Instagram about her return to the Grand Ole Opry.
In the first video, Lauren tells fans, “It’s my first show back after having my daughter, and I had to do it, because I am singing with an icon tonight making the Opry debut.”
Lauren then beats out a drumroll and the camera pans over to reveal Elmo from Sesame Street beside her.
In the caption she writes, “This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever done… Thank you for letting me share the stage with you tonight, Elmo!! Let’s do it again soon? ❤️”
Lauren Alaina & Elmo Sing ‘Road Less Traveled’
Elmo was all decked out in a cowboy hat and western shirt for his debut on the Opry stage.
The pair sang Lauren Alaina’s 2015 hit “Road Less Traveled.”
The Grand Ole Opry posted a video of the performance on Instagram, captioning it “One of a kind ❤️”
The lyrics read, “If you trust your rebel heart, ride into battle
Don′t be afraid, take the road less travelled
Wear out your boots and kick up the gravel
Don’t be afraid, take the road less travelled on
Oh, ooh-whoa, ooh, ooh-whoa
Take the road less travelled on”
Elmo even sang some harmony!
And fans were here for it. One commented, “Wow Elmo can sing! 👏👏👏”
Another enthused, “Elmo in a cowboy hat is something I didn’t know I needed.”
And another agreed with that sentiment, writing, “❤️❤️❤️ omg I didn’t even know how much I needed this right now 😭😭😭 Thank you Elmo ❤️❤️❤️”
Some even offered compliments on Elmo’s singing ability, writing, “OKAY ELMO I SEE YOU WITH THOSE HARMONY AND VIBRATO!!! And Lauren you killed it !!!” and “I love Elmo, such a great harmony singer!!! Crushing it”
Lauren Alaina Is Going Back Out on Tour With Rascal Flatts
Lauren Alaina has also announced that she’ll return to touring, but she’s not hitting the road right away.
Lauren will once again open for Rascal Flatts in round two of their “Life Is a Highway” Tour, which kicks off in January 2026.
The “All My Exes” singer put up a post on Instagram expressing her excitement over returning to the tour, writing, “I’m so pumped to be back out on tour with @rascalflatts but I’m even more excited to hang with y’all!! Upgrade your ticket to VIP at the link in my bio. Let’s have some fun 💋”
Lauren first toured with Rascal Flatts when she was pregnant with her now two-month-old daughter, Beni Doll Arnold.
Beni was born June 11. Beni will be 7-months-old by the time her mom goes back out on tour.
