Four months after becoming a first-time dad, 24-year-old Laine Hardy is a husband, too. The season 17 “American Idol” winner married former New Orleans Saints cheerleader Jordan Gautreau in front of friends and family on June 20, 2025.
The couple shared their happy news with a social media post, featuring photos from their wedding, held in Zachary, Louisiana, and captioned the post, “Officially introducing Mr. And Mrs. Hardy 💒 06/20/25”
Hardy and Gautreau got engaged in the fall of 2024, and told The Wedding Reporter podcast that they planned get married in the spring of 2026. So the June wedding is a bit of a surprise for fans of the country singer.
Laine Hardy & Jordan Gautreau Got Married at Historic Magnolia Fields
Hardy, wearing a midnight blue tuxedo, married Gautreau, seen in an off-the-shoulder, low-cut wedding gown, at Magnolia Farms, a renovated 1898 house in their home state of Louisiana.
The photos they shared from their outdoor ceremony included one of them walking up the aisle as attendees applauded, and another of them posing on the porch of the estate. Additional pics taken at an evening reception showed Gautreau in short white party dress and Hardy with his coat off and shirt untucked as they ran through a spirit tunnel of wedding guests holding sparklers.
Hardy and Gautreau revealed they were engaged and expecting a baby with a joint social media post on September 7.
Gautreau began the post by writing, “the secret is out…. I’m having his babyyyy? the secret is out…. I’m having his babyyyy🤭 We are so excited for this chapter of our lives. Looking forward to God’s plan for us. The biggest surprise and the easiest YES! Can’t wait for our new title as parents and to plan a wedding #partywiththehardys”
In mid-December, during a joint interview on The Wedding Reporter podcast, Gautreau said that they wanted to have time to “have the baby and just get our bearings, get our feet back on the ground after that” before planning a wedding. They also revealed that they met in 2022 when Gautreau reached out to Hardy via social media, hoping to find a way for her grandma, who became a huge fan when he was on “American Idol” in 2019.
“She still can’t get over it,” Gautreau told podcast host Alyssa DiCicco. “Every time she sees him, she’s like, ‘You’re so precious’ and she hugs him and everything.”
Laine Hardy Became a Dad in February 2025 & Continues to Release New Music
Hardy and Gautreau announced in an Instagram post that they welcomed their son Hollis James on February 21 at 1:23 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces.
Two days after his birth, the couple captioned several photos of their newborn by writing, “Welcome to the world Hollis James Hardy! We are over the moon about this little boy … An absolute gift from God. Let the adventure begin!”
Just before the baby’s birth, in January, Hardy released his newest single, “Back of My Mind.” The singer parted ways with his record label, 19 Recordings, which he signed with after winning “American Idol.” He has been working as an independent artist, periodically releasing new music.
On May 17, Hardy told Unfiltered With Kiran, “The last six years have been growth. I’m thankful for all the ups and downs — they’ve shaped me.
He added that he had “a lot going on” but with a trip to Nashville ahead to record new songs, he wanted to assure fans, “I’ll keep making music. I love it — and I’m not stopping.”
Hardy also said he’d watched fellow Louisianan John Foster’s “incredible” journey during season 23 on “American Idol” and was happy to help the 19-year-old when he reached out for advice.
“I told him to be honest and true to himself on the inside — and whatever came out his mouth,” Hardy said. “This show gives you a stage, but what you do next is where the real work begins. And John has what it takes to make it last.”
