Kelly Clarkson Didn’t See This Coming During Vegas Kellyoke

Any fan of Kelly Clarkson will tell you that it’s not often that the singer is speechless.

But a recent show in her Las Vegas residency stopped the “American Idol” in her tracks.

Kelly has been incorporating a fan favorite from her “The Kelly Clarkson Show”- her very onw take on karaoke called “Kellyoke.”

During her August 2 performance of her “Studio Sessions” show at Caesars Palace, Kelly told the crowd she was about to sing one of her “favorite songs to cover.”

That’s Radiohead’s “Creep.” Kelly told the audience during the song’s intro, “Look, nothing is better than the original, I’m going to own that right now, but I’m going to do my best to just, like, have fun with it.”

The “Since U Been Gone” singer was a bit distracted by feathers shedding from her stage costume.

But as the instrumental introduction continued, suddenly Kelly stopped in amazement.

“Oh my God, I missed this part in rehearsal,” she admitted, singling out cellist Ismael Ariel Guerrero Bombut. “I can’t even… Ismael.. what the [expletive]?” she exclaimed as the crowd laughed.

“We did this in rehearsal and you did NOT do that,” Kelly told the cellist as he smiled broadly.

Kelly Clarkson Asks For a ‘Do Over’ on Kellyoke

In a video of the performance Kelly Clarkson posted on Instagram, Kelly wrote, “I love to perform this song so much!! Also, @ismacello, that was so incredibly beautiful!”

In fact, she was so impressed by her cellist’s talent, she asked the band to start all over from the beginning on the song.

“I wasn’t ready,” she said. “Do it again, I want to watch!”

Cellist Ismael Ariel Guerrero Bombut was happy to oblige. He commented on Kelly’s post, writing, “I have no words. It’s been such a blessing to have the opportunity to share the stage with you. Forever grateful @kellyclarkson ❤️❤️❤️”

Kelly Clarkson Keeps Audience Laughing in Las Vegas

Kelly Clarkson has been delighting fans with her transparency during her Vegas shows, explaining uncomfortable costumes, wardrobe malfunctions and songs that don’t hit right after her divorce.

She’s even let her two children, 11-year-old River Rose and 9-year-old Remi, join her on stage to sing and dance to her biggest hits.

On July 26, both her daughter and son came on stage to help her sing “Since U Been Gone.” An audience member caught the heartwarming moment on video and posted it on TikTok.

River Rose also joined Kelly on stage in Vegas earlier in July to sing a duet of “Heartbeat Song,” even wearing a matching outfit with her superstar mom.

“Studio Sessions” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace shows are weekends only through August 16. Then the singer will circle back for more performances November 7 through 15.
