“My kids just came back from my ex, and any time there’s mention of maybe him being with somebody else…they are just really adamant about keeping that dream alive that we might still be together one day,” she shared.
When Kelly Spoke About Her Divorce
Raising two children in the spotlight, primarily through a high-profile divorce, has come with its challenges. Clarkson has openly shared that she turned to child psychologists to help River and Remy process their emotions in a healthy way.
“We want to do it right,” she told Extra. “Everyone’s sad, and it’s okay to be sad.”
She also reflected on the impact of the pandemic on her children’s well-being, noting how Remy’s mood noticeably lifted once he returned to in-person learning.
Through it all, Kelly Clarkson remains deeply committed to her children’s happiness and emotional safety. And just like her hit anthem reminds us, she’s only getting stronger.
Kelly has also spoken openly about how divorce made her a stronger parent. “I’m a far better mother because when you’re honest with yourself, you’re able to be honest with others,” she added.
Brandon Blackstock Dies at 48 After Private Cancer Battle

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the statement read, as published by People. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
Brandon was also the father to two older children, Savannah and Seth, from his previous marriage to Melissa Ashworth, which lasted from 2001 to 2012.
Just one day before news of Brandon’s passing broke, Clarkson announced she was postponing the remaining dates of her Las Vegas residency, citing the health of her children’s father and her need to focus on family.
