Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck Still Trying to Resolve Divorce 4 Months Later

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are still trying to resolve their divorce months after she filed the papers, according to In Touch Weekly.

“Nothing has been resolved, it doesn’t seem like they’re anywhere close to finalizing the divorce,” a source told the publication.

“They both said they wanted to do it amicably and have even talked a good game about wanting to consciously uncouple, but that plan seems to be out the window because they can’t agree on how to divide things up, which of course is affecting things,” In Touch Weekly’s source reported.

Former “American Idol” judge Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, her fourth husband, on August 20. That’s almost four months ago.

According to In Touch Weekly, the pair are facing increasing stress.

The divorce has become “highly stressful and argumentative behind the scenes,” In Touch reported.

“She feels like the least he could do is be a gentleman in their divorce,” the source told In Touch. “But of course, Ben doesn’t see it that way, he thinks he’s been more than fair and J. Lo is the one purposely dragging this on and nitpicking over little details.”

TMZ previously reported that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.

According to In Touch, Affleck has started avoiding Lopez.

“J. Lo is telling him he should be spending more time with her, because the blended family situation is so new, and it’s vital that they all get off to a good start following the divorce, and just establish a pattern, and then he has Jen pushing him to spend time with her and their kids together,” In Touch reported, referring to Affleck’s ex-wife, Jen Garner.

However, Hola! reported that Affleck and Lopez are still “amicable” and their kids are close to one another.

Page Six reported that Lopez and Affleck “have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved.”

According to Page Six, they and Garner were seen at a recent school event for their kids. “Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids,” the source told Page Six.

“Obviously things haven’t been the same, but they have a lot of history,” the source said, according to Page Six, adding that Lopez and Affleck “have a mutual respect for one another.”
