Jelly Roll Crushes Guest Host Gig on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

With an impressive resume already under his belt, Jelly Roll can now add late-night talk show host to it. The country superstar filled in as the guest host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night and kicked off the show with a hilarious monologue. However, if his jokes weren’t landing, the “I Am Not Okay” singer had a plan ready to go.

A Cover-up if Things Went Bad

To start the show, Jelly, 40, told the audience to be patient with him. He said, “This is my first time doing something like this, and I’m going to try my best. I am. But if I really suck bad, y’all just remember — my name is Post Malone.”

No one seemed to doubt Jelly would be amazing, as he killed it as the first-ever artist-in-residence on “American Idol” and now he was a natural hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Post Malone didn’t have to worry about any bad press coming his way.

His first joke landed, saying, “Do not adjust your TV — Jimmy did not join MS-13. I am your guest host, Jelly Roll. Tune in, baby.”Jelly talked about his time in prison, bringing some humor to the situation. Jelly said, “Now y’all know every guest gets on here, and they say it’s great to be here. But I want to talk to y’all. Speaking as a guy who has been to prison before, it really is great to be here.”

Upcoming WWE SummerSlam Match

The “Save Me” singer also talked about his upcoming match at WWE SummerSlam. At that sporting event, which will air on Peacock in the U.S. and Netflix internationally on August 2 and 3, he will team up with Randy Orton to take on Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, who happened to interrupt Jelly’s interview with Orton last night on Kimmel.

After the audience clapped for Logan Paul, Jelly told them to stop. He then joked about why he decided to take part in a professional wrestling match: “I decided to do it because truthfully, there are three things that I’m always mistaken for. I’m either mistaken for a wrestler, a tattoo artist, or a member of the Insane Clown Posse who just got sober.”

While he has been on a weight loss journey, can Jelly fight in the WWE? He thinks so, adding, “I do have a lot of qualifications. As a fat guy, I’ve broken several folding chairs.”

Jelly went on to say SummerSlam was going to be a very “big moment” for him. He told the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” crowd, “I faced my share of struggles in life, y’all. I faced adversity. I’ve overcame and I never thought, but I am going to have a moment that every American has dreamed of. And that is the moment of slapping Logan Paul in his face.”

After recently wrapping up the U.S. leg of his tour with Post Malone, the duo is gearing up for the European leg of the tour, which kicks off next month. In the meantime, he will enjoy another night of hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” tonight (Thursday, July 17, 2025) on ABC.
