Adam Lambert has officially closed the door on his Hollywood Hills chapter, selling his spectacular hillside retreat for $6.2 million this week. The Queen frontman’s former residence offers a glimpse into the rock star lifestyle, complete with resort-style amenities and show-stopping architectural details.
According to TMZ, Lambert sold the property on Monday for slightly below his original asking price of $7.375 million. The singer originally purchased the estate in 2018 for $6.5 million, transforming the spec house into a personalized sanctuary that matched his theatrical stage presence.
The 5,000-square-foot residence sits on a quarter-acre lot high above the Sunset Strip, featuring four bedrooms and six bathrooms spread across three levels. Originally built in the 1950s, the home underwent extensive renovations during Lambert’s ownership, evolving from a standard spec house into a custom-designed masterpiece.
Contractor Justin Krzyston of Stonehurst Construction worked closely with Lambert to reimagine the space. “Because the house was purchased as a spec build, we didn’t have to allocate time or budget to major structural changes,” Krzyston explained to Forbes. “We were able to dive straight into aesthetics, materials and transformative design.”
Bold Design Choices Define Every Room
The transformation begins the moment visitors step inside, where Lambert replaced a standard chandelier with an asymmetrical burst of cobalt glass orbs reminiscent of Jeff Koons balloon sculptures. This dramatic change set the tone for the entire renovation project.
The kitchen underwent perhaps the most striking transformation. Lambert and Krzyston selected a Silver Wave marble island over 10 feet long, book-matched and leathered for maximum visual impact. “It’s got this natural movement that feels fluid and dramatic, and it pulls everything together visually,” Krzyston said. “With the new darker cabinetry, the stone adds contrast without being too stark.”
The primary suite showcases Lambert’s bold aesthetic preferences with snakeskin-embossed leather walls and a floating, ceiling-hung fireplace clad in basalt. The adjacent bathroom features walnut planks climbing the walls in a seamless shell, complemented by monolithic black granite flooring.
According to Robb Report, the primary bathroom includes a black soaking tub positioned beside retractable glass walls, offering city views while maintaining privacy. The oversized glass-encased shower can accommodate multiple people, featuring marble-style tiles and designer fixtures throughout.
Entertainment Paradise in the Hills
The outdoor spaces rival any luxury resort, featuring an L-shaped infinity pool and spa surrounded by multiple entertainment areas. The backyard features a barbecue and bar setup nestled beside an alfresco dining area. A fire pit provides the perfect setting for evening gatherings.
Lambert’s property also boasts a private gym equipped with high-end equipment, including a Peloton bike and Pilates reformer. The space doubles as a potential fifth bedroom, offering flexibility for future owners.
As reported by Home Stratosphere, the gated estate is situated in the coveted Hollywood Hills neighborhood. The area spans from Griffith Park to Laurel Canyon and offers sweeping views of Los Angeles below. The area is known for its winding roads, celebrity residences, and proximity to entertainment industry hubs.
The sale comes as Lambert focuses more attention on his East Coast ventures. Sources have spotted the performer house hunting in New York City. He recently toured a $10.5 million duplex unit in Tribeca.
Lambert’s career has flourished since his runner-up finish on “American Idol” in 2009. Beyond his solo recording success, he has served as Queen’s lead vocalist on international tours. He also made his Broadway debut as the Emcee in Cabaret at The KitKat Club, and recently starred as Judas in a Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
