Gabby Barrett celebrated her husband, Cade Foehner, on Father’s Day with a group of sweet photos depicting their family life. Barrett took to Instagram to share a carousel of adorable pics featuring Foehner and their three young children, Baylah May, 4, Augustine Boone, 2, and Ivy Josephine, 1.
The “I Hope” singer captioned the post, “Not all heroes wear capes – some wear patience, carry burdens quietly, and love without limit. Grateful for you today my dear, Happy Fathers Day!” Foehner commented on the post, telling his wife, “Thank ya baby! I appreciate you saying it!”
The photos gave fans a candid glimpse into the couple’s family life, which looks to be nothing short of idyllic. Fohner is pictured playing outside with the kids, holding one of the babies while out to lunch, reading with them, and snuggling up on the couch.
From ‘American Idol’ to Family Life
Barrett and Foehner met in 2018 when they were both contestants on season 16 of “American Idol.” It was clear they each had talent, and fans agreed, with Foehner placing in the top 5 and Barrett finishing in third place.
But more importantly, Barrett and Foehner fell in love during their time on the show. The couple announced their engagement a year after season 16 of “Idol” wrapped, and tied the knot in October of 2019 in a small ceremony in Garrison, Texas. “The venue is in a neat little private area down some dirt roads, which totally fits our style,” Barrett shared with People.
In 2021, the pair welcomed their first child, Baylah, and were over the moon with joy. “She’s just my whole world now,” Barrett told People. ”She’s the sweetest, so it’s really cool having her with me.”
The couple’s family grew quickly, and Barrett showed off another baby bump when she and Foehner returned to the “Idol”stage to perform “Pick Me Up” for the season 20 finale. Their son, Augustine, was born in 2022, and the family welcomed daughter Ivy in 2024.

GettyBarrett and Foehner have collaborated on more than building a life together. Foehner played guitar on multiple tracks featured on Barrett’s debut album “Goldmine” and the pair wrote the song “Got Me” together. Foehner also became part of Barrett’s touring band.
And according to Barrett, her husband has been something of a muse when it comes to her songwriting. “I think being married and in love and all of that changed how I write songs and what I want to sing about and the type of songs that I like,” she shared with People.
