“American Idol” Judge Carrie Underwood surprised parishioners at a church in Tennessee by singing Christmas songs during their concert, according to video posted on TikTok.
A fan shared the video on TikTok of Underwood singing a Christmas song. The 1 minute and 21 second video was posted by @totally_tina22.
“We were invited to a Christmas Concert by my husband’s co worker and got a special treat to hear Carrie Underwood do a couple of songs,” she wrote. “It wasn’t announced she would be there, so we were surprised. She is so talented. The entire group of the church choirs were outstanding.”

Carrie Underwood Has Performed at the Church Before
According to a video posted on YouTube, Underwood has performed at the church before, singing “Goodness of God” in August.
Fans also responded positively to that performance. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again-these are the kinds of songs Carrie Underwood should be singing. Her spirit shines in a different way when she does,” wrote one person in the comment thread on YouTube.
“I have never heard her sound better!!” another person wrote, and a third fan declared that the performance gave “goosebumps.”
Underwood is returning to “American Idol” as a judge on March 9. “20 years ago, Carrie Underwood walked through these Idol doors and became a star 🤩” a post from the show says on Instagram. Underwood is replacing judge Katy Perry on the hit show. She first auditioned for the show in 2005, and she has racked up the hits in the 19 years since that time.
According to Billboard, Underwood “has earned 16 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits, as well as eight Grammy trophies and 16 ACM Awards.” She also released a book and a fitness app, among other ventures, Billboard reported.
Underwood did not post about the church performance on Instagram, but she has posted other Christmas music performances and clips from this season.
“Christmas is my #FavoriteTimeOfYear!🎶🎄” she wrote on Instagram.
