Not every marriage is built to last, but “American Idol” judge Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher have proven that theirs has serious staying power. As Star reported, the couple celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on July 10th, 2025. Sources exclusively told the publication that the couple’s union is still going strong.
“Carrie feels like the luckiest woman in the world,” one source shared. They explained that Fisher has been very supportive of Underwood’s career since they met, and that family is a top priority for both spouses. “When Carrie’s home, she’s not a star, she’s a wife and mother,” the source said. “To her boys, she’s just Mom.”
Balancing Work and Family Has Always Been Important to The Couple

Balancing family and fame is difficult for any celebrity, but it’s always been a major focus for Underwood and Fisher. “When she’s on the road, Mike will often take the boys to where she is for family time,” the source shared with Star about how the couple maintains that balance. “The rest of the time they FaceTime and Zoom so Carrie stays in the loop.”
As The Tennessean shared in 2019, Underwood’s family joined her for parts of “The Cry Pretty Tour 360” so that she could still fulfill some of her most valued motherly duties. For example, although Fisher and the family’s nanny were integral pieces of the childcare puzzle, it was important to Underwood that she remained personally involved in making dinner for her boys.
Underwood Gained a Deeper Appreciation For Famous Mothers When She Became One Herself

Personal experience has a huge impact on perspective, which Underwood discovered when she became a mother. “I never knew what it was like to be a mom and a wife and a woman in this business until I became those things,” she told The Tennessean. The experience gave her a deeper appreciation for other famous women that balance raising children with building careers. “It makes me respect those women that I grew up idolizing even more, and I didn’t even know all that they had on their plate.”
When she’s not touring (or judging on “American Idol”), Underwood can be found on her family farm, enjoying the quieter side of fame. She frequently posts fun updates about farm life on her social media pages, giving fans small glimpses at the life she and Fisher have built together across the years.
