“America’s Got Talent” fans are excited to see another week of auditions, but it looks like NBC is holding off on a new auditions episode of “AGT” this week. There will be no new auditions on the show this Tuesday, July 22.
Instead, NBC will be airing a special Golden Buzzer episode. The network will be looking back at some of the biggest and best Golden Buzzer moments in the show’s 20 seasons.
Golden Buzzer Special
So far this season, “AGT” has aired seven episodes of auditions. While we typically see a new episode every Tuesday night at 8/7c on NBC, that is not technically the case this week.
Yes, this week’s episode of “America’s Got Talent” season 20 is new, but it won’t feature any new auditions. According to TV Guide, the Tuesday, July 22, show will be: “A look back on some of the greatest golden buzzers in the history of the show.”
The show and network are celebrating the 20th season of the reality competition show, so what better way to celebrate than look back at some of these Golden Buzzer moments?
When Will New ‘AGT’ Auditions Air?
While it is disappointing that there will be no new auditions on “America’s Got Talent” season 20 this week, fans of the show won’t have to wait long for new auditions to air.
“AGT” is scheduled to return with a new episode of auditions on Tuesday, July 29, at 8/7c on NBC. That means just one week of a special episode before another night of auditions is upon us.
Who Will Hit the Golden Buzzer Next?
While it is all about the Golden Buzzer on “AGT” this week, fans of the show might be curious to know who will hit the Golden Buzzer next.
For “AGT” season 20, all four judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Melanie “Mel B” Brown — have two Golden Buzzers to hand out. In addition, “AGT” host Terry Crews also has two Golden Buzzers to hand out, so a total of 10 will be given out this year.
So far this season, we have seen Simon Cowell (Lightwire and Birmingham Youth Choir), Sofia Vergara (Duo Stardust and Jessica Sanchez), Mel B (Messoudi Brothers and Charity Lockhart), and Terry Crews (Funkateer Dancers and The BoykinZ) all hit the Golden Buzzer two times. Howie Mandel has only hit it one time for singer Jourdan Blue.
Based on that, the next judge to hit their Golden Buzzer will be Howie Mandel since he is the only person who has one remaining. With multiple audition episodes remaining to air, it could be on the next episode, or they could save it for another week.
Tune into NBC on Tuesday, July 22, at 8/7c for the Golden Buzzer special, and then come back on Tuesday, July 29, at 8/7c for a new episode of auditions.
