Brandy Norwood, known simply as Brandy to her fans, is poised to have a solid 2025. Not only is she embarking on the “The Boy Is Mine” tour with Monica, she is also set to star in a new Lifetime Christmas movie alongside her daughter, Sy’Rai Smith.
According to Deadline, the new movie, “Christmas Every Day,” will serve as the tentpole for the network’s “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” slate of Holiday movies. In the film, Brandy will play Francine “Fancy” Ballantine, a fashion designer grieving the loss of her father as the Christmas season approaches.
Her daughter, Sy’rai, will play Brandy’s sister in the new Lifetime Christmas movie. Notably, this film will serve as Sy’Rai’s acting debut. Additionally, she’s following in her mother’s footsteps as a singer and songwriter. To date, she has released singles, including the song “On My Own” in 2023.
Brandy Norwood Serves As a Producer On The Film and Will Provide Music
The title of the new Lifetime movie comes from a song from Brandy’s 2023 album, “Christmas With Brandy.” It’s also likely that Brandy will record new music for the film. Notably, she also serves as a producer on the upcoming flick.
The Grammy-winning singer said in a statement, “The holidays are always about family as part of the festivities, so I’m beyond thrilled to be partnering with Lifetime on this magical holiday project and having my own daughter star with me – even though we are playing sisters!”
Brandy continued, “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime has become such a beloved tradition, and I’m honored to star and executive produce.” Other producers on “Christmas Every Day” include Stella Bulochnikov, Dr. Holly Carter, and Ryan Ramsey, as well as Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer, Larry Grimaldi, and Adam Shepard, who is from Fox Entertainment Studios.
Fox Entertainment Global will distribute the new Lifetime Christmas movie internationally. Meg DeLoatch and Cameron Ross wrote the film’s script.
