Popular sitcom actress from the 90s, Angela Watson, and her husband, Brian, are celebrating life as first-time parents.
The “Step by Step” actress revealed in a July 18, 2024, Instagram post that she had welcomed a baby boy named James. She was 48 years old at the time.
Their Son James Is Recovering With Help From Therapists
On August 2, Nahas posted a video update to Instagram after 18 days of their son’s rehabilitation.
“The therapists seem to be seeing some strength and good moments in his daily work with PT [physical therapy], OT [occupational therapy] & Speech/language,” he wrote.
The video featured sweet clips of James engaging with therapists, playing with toys, and learning sounds and shapes. In one touching moment, he even high-fives a therapy dog.

Baby James Has Faced Setbacks, But He Keeps Surprising
Representative Image/CanvaDespite his progress, James has also faced medical challenges. Nahas described the first 12 days as “tough,” with “consistent throwing up.” Still, he noted their son’s resilience and growth.
“Now, almost 18 lbs, his personality is shining more, with unexpected hand waves, fun giggles, and unexpected sweet sounds😊 coming from him,” he wrote.
Nahas added that James passed his swallow test for liquids and purée, though complications with his feeding tube required four replacements in just six days.
He’ll undergo a procedure on August 11 “to replace tubes and free him up for mobility … so he can come home and continue to grow and get stronger.”

When Watson Reunited With ‘Step by Step’ Cast
Watson rose to fame in “Step by Step”, which premiered in 1991 and aired for seven seasons on ABC and CBS. She played Karen Foster, the teen daughter of Carol Foster (played by the late Suzanne Somers).
In March 2024, Watson reunited with co-stars Patrick Duffy, Staci Keanan, Christine Lakin, Christopher Castile, Jason Marsden, and Sasha Mitchell at 90s Con, just months after Somers’ passing in October 2023.
